Here’s a Behind-the-Writing video clip from the author while in Yosemite National Park, where much of the book’s poetry was written.
A note from the author, Candice Lee:
“Compiling the book was more difficult than writing it…
…I started with over 300 scraps of paper: backsides of old itineraries, receipts, napkins, pocket journals, whatever. Some were hand-written and others were from my typewriter at home. A lot of the writing process took place while hiking on the trails in Yosemite. I came home from these trips with a backpack full of journaling scraps. I wrote on anything I had in that moment of inspiration.”
